I have a relatively large collection of songs I downloaded from YouTube, one-by-one, on my Android phone. I would like to download a lot more of the songs I like, with correct metadata and without having to manually edit the album cover art, artist, and more, on my Windows PC....
I think DS Lite is the best one (apparently it can only run GBA games natively tho, which is a shame imo)
We installed an IPS screen in one of our GBCs and now I want to mod my GBA SP soon. The shell looks awful and its display is one of those that's completely washed out. It will need a substantial investment so I am delaying it.
I don't really like to explain stuff to other people because I often repeat myself too much and I don't like to evangelize/lecture people. However, when I have to explain why I do things certain way it is usually about the following:
FOSS + self hosting
Retro console moding
Mechanical Keyboards
Board games
Using the steam deck as a computer/emulation station
I know they've always been on Lemmy, but it seems like the past few weeks it's slowly increasing, making me want to just stay on beehaw /local. Showing up on more communities, even on instances that ban that type of trolling explicitly....
Mull is a privacy oriented and deblobbed Android browser based on Firefox. Compared to Firefox, it offers much greater fingerprinting protection out of the box, and disables JavaScript Just-in-Time (JIT) compilation for enhanced security. It also removes all proprietary elements from Firefox, such as replacing Google Play...
It’s now written as if it was dangerous to use mull which isn’t
Have you read the thread? Honestly for me it was very painful to read it because you had good arguments with good sources and the replies were all people expressing their own personal opinions. This isn't good for a place looking to be a reference.
Never really had the privilege of being a frame rate snob. My teenager years was pretty much playing games that my computer didn't have the minimum requirements to run.
Now I am a steam deck owner and I am very happy. My only complaints are when games have really bugged UIs or when controller have these nonsensical key binds you can't change like L3 + left D pad (Path of Exile).
LibreOffice literally looks exactly like MS Office in my computer, what are you talking about? It does take a little bit of configuration, but nothing you can't find with a quick search
Hey mates, recently I've developed a tool to use the GenerativeAI on the AI Horde to created random avatars and banners on lemmy. To keep things spicy, I wanted to deploy to rotate the /c/piracy banner daily, as I've done in a bunch of other communities like !stable_diffusion_art and the lemmy.dbzer0.com....
Just to make sure I understood things on my research correctly, AI Horde utilizes Stable Diffusion which is already trained with LAION dataset, is that correct?
I am just an user and not even part of your instance, but I think it would feel nicer to have a member of the community creating the images and the commissions being paid through community funds but well, since this is a piracy community this might not be a shared sentiment.
This is really unfortunate considering how popular the community is. I honestly assumed your instance was doing fine with donations, so maybe a lot of people might do it as well. Having the donation goal on the side bar could help, maybe? This community has helped me and my spouse a lot so we will be definitely be donating in the next few days.
I wouldn't expect most of people here to be reasonable. Some people just piracy for the sake of doing it and just take advantage of the ownership argument.
The medium internet user doesn't even know what git is, so I think it is very likely that a lot of people don't understand the way github works and are very upset by how "difficult" it can be to get an installer from it.
I think that basic KDE looks pretty ugly. I used vanilla gnome for 6 months and loved it. I know about the subreddit unixporn and some "well themed" KDE DE look really good. I wanted to know that if it's worth it to customize your Steam Deck DE or should you just pretend that it's just functional and you shouldn't touch it. I...
I've never really put a protective case on my handheld consoles (NDS, Vita, 3DS). However, the Steam Deck is more expensive and weighs much more, meaning that even a small height fall could more easily damage it....
I already have a steam deck. But, I am thinking of getting a PS5 for the games that can’t run on the deck or would be better played on a console. Is this a silly idea? Redundant? I would have a steam deck and a pS5....
Doesn't seem like a good idea if you need to buy other things along with it. The exclusives are nice but unless you really really want to play them, those will be really expensive games if you consider the effects cost
It was for me too because I wasn’t following anyone. As soon as I started following people that had strong opinions about technology and politics, well…
Or you will need help and ask questions and people will assume you are “lazy asking” and be toxic just because you are a beginner and don’t know stuff. Recently I’ve lost count on how many projects I joined some kind of communication space like Discord and left as soon as I saw how awful people can be when they want to gatekeep
We were able to get the LE after more than 20 minutes of trying. I had it on cart on web and the desktop app, the desktop app gave an error while trying to process the payment which put me all the way back to the cart but the web window was able to process it!
Yeah. Unfortunately the hardware doesn’t run last gen games as other options but the need to deal with Windows is a nono for me. Also I don’t understand why people want to play AAA games on a handheld.
I was expecting they wouldn’t change the visuals and feel of the game so much, I guess. Don’t know if it was the idea but I tried for a few hours and ended up refunding it because I was expecting the same “feel” I had from the original/hd version and everything felt so… different. Maybe I need to give it another try but I remember at the time I decide to stick with the HD Version because it was what felt more familiar for me.
I know this is not a Christian community, but I recently discovered Tachiyomi looking for alternatives to Saikou and a good alternative to read manga (which I don’t do much, but it makes me curious) is Tachiyomi and although installing extensions is really simple the vast majority have NSFW content (or hentai?) and Jesus, I...
Thanks for this question, OP! I made the mistake of asking this question on Tachiyomi’s discord and they were very unpleasant about it (and apparently they don’t want people using all the same extensions too).
Some have already been mentioned here but currently I have been using:
MangaDex (I still don’t know how to make NSFW titles appear tho)
I think its all about the games you choose! For example, survivor games like Vampire Survivors, Halls of Torment, Soulstone Survivors are super fun to play on the deck.
My spouse is also using it as emulator device so he’s been playing many ps1/ps2 games on it.
My steam deck stopped charging, bought a new charger to be safe but still no dice. Opened her up and reseated the battery then tried the charger again. There was a hissing sound so I immediately unplugged it. The port smelled like burning, but after removing the board, there are no visual signs of burnt components. I do have...
